Activists demand quick action against cat killer

Manama

Animal rights activists have requested the Bahraini police to immediately nab the person responsible for brutal killing of a cat, before posting a photo of himself with the carcass on social media.

The activists initially suspected that the incident occurred in Lebanon. However, later on they concluded that the cat was killed in
Bahrain.

Animal activist Doris Meltin has launched a campaign against the killer of the cat on animal rights website, www.yousignanimals.org, urging  police to spruce up efforts in arresting the youth.

“This man should be named the most wanted person in Bahrain now! In photo, it seems he is really proud of himself! Only a twisted mind can act like this towards an innocent animal,” Meltin said.

The animal activist said if this person is let free, many more innocent animals would become victims of his brutality.

He also requested police to arrest the person who clicked the photo. “Take action immediately to ensure this man and his friend(s) are brought to justice,” Meltin added.

The animal activist’s condemnation was posted on August 20 in social media, and it received backing from hundreds of people.

According to local sources, the incident took place last December in Khamis.

The person posted the picture on the social media, claiming that he had taken revenge on the cat that killed his pigeons.
