Teacher sacked for watching porn video inside classroom

The Ministry of Education dismissed a teacher from his job after he was found guilty of watching porn videos saved in his smartphone inside the classroom.

Though the teacher approached the High Administrative Court, he did not get any respite. The incident was reported after one of the students, who saw the teacher watching porn, informed it to his parent, sources said. “The parent, subsequently, filed a complaint with the school administration,” they added.

A probe was launched into the allegation, which found the teacher guilty. “I had been working for the Education Ministry for the past 18 years, but a disciplinary committee decided to relieve me from my duties after accusing me of misusing my mobile phone inside the classroom,” the teacher said in his complaint against the ministry.

However, evidence was against the teacher and many students saw him watching porn, according to the disciplinary committee. “The disciplinary committee investigated the incident and found the teacher guilty of the offense. And it decided to sack him from his work,” the ministry responded to the case. The teacher cited administrative rules to escape dismissal.

One of the civil service rules states that investigations must be carried out into an incident within three months after its first reporting to the direct supervisor. However, the court ruled out the plea, confirming that the Education Ministry had fully complied with rules while taking action against him.
