Stripped off their Bahraini nationality.... read on why!
Three men convicted of undergoing training in terror camps run by Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) have had their Bahraini nationality stripped. They also received jail terms; two of them (the second and third defendants) got seven years behind bars each, while their co-defendant was jailed for five years. The second and third defendants are still at large, but the first defendant is in police custody. According to official documents, the second defendant, aged 22, convinced the 19-year-old first defendant to receive training on making and using weapons as well as manufacturing bombs and plant them, purposely for attacking police officers in Bahrain.
The defendants were indicted for using weapons with an aim to launch terrorist assaults in Bahrain. They were also charged with training the first defendant on how to use explosives and firearms. The second and third defendants were sentenced in absentia, and they are believed to be in Iran.
