The Attorney General, head of the Public Prosecution for Ministries and Public Entities, announced that the Minor Criminal Court has convicted six individuals for operating educational services without the required licenses. The court imposed fines ranging from BD 1,000 to BD 2,000 on each.
The case arose after the Public Prosecution received several complaints from the Ministry of Education. Field inspection teams had visited various private educational institutions across Bahrain and found six centers offering academic programs to students aged 3 to 18 without proper licensing. Some centers had as many as 60 students.
Investigations revealed that these institutions failed to follow safety regulations and instructions for kindergartens and schools. Violations included lack of basic preventive measures, poor safety equipment, and non-compliance with child protection protocols, putting both students and staff at risk.
Following the complaints, the Public Prosecution launched investigations, interrogated the accused, ordered the pre-trial detention of one suspect, and shut down the unlicensed institutions. The accused were subsequently referred to court, which issued the fines.
