Pak men’s custody extended in drug case
Manama
The High Criminal Court has renewed the detention of four Pakistani men suspected of drug peddling by another 30 days, pending investigations. The four were apprehended following a police-tip off, where officers were informed about a man (the first defendant) asking customers to transfer money to offshore accounts before giving them guidance to the drugs’ place.
The defendant who was nicknamed "Shah of Iran" had been reportedly assigning his co-accomplices to hide the drugs in different places to avoid meeting customers during the handing over of the drugs.
But detectives later discovered that one of the defendants was living with the mastermind, and their apartment location was eventually traced.
During the police raid into their home, officers uncovered 48 drug capsules and 273 heroine cigarettes. According to courts, the heroine was weighing around 1.5 kg.
