Five policemen injured in blast during Ashoora procession
Manama : A “terrorist explosion” during a procession commemorating Ashura lightly wounded five policemen, the Ministry of Interior said yesterday.
“The explosion caused injuries to five policemen deployed as security for the Ashoora procession along Budaiya Avenue in Daih”, the ministry said. Molotove cocktails were used in the attack, said a source.
Capital Governor Shaikh Hisham bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa condemned the bombing.
“Necessary action will be taken to uncover the culprits behind the blast and to find out who was responsible for the attacks,” he said.
“All necessary security was provided round-the-clock to the citizens to ensure all the activities related to the Ashura observance was carried out smoothly,” he added.
