Summer Festival to begin on July 30

The much-awaited Bahrain Summer Festival will start on July 30.

 Unveiling the schedule, Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (BACA) President, Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al Khalifa said that the events will be organised with the help of sponsors as the authority had limited funds this time.

 Shaikha Mai said, every year they select a new place to organise the event and this year, Sitra was selected for the purpose. The month-long event would be held under the theme, ‘’Our year of heritage” and it would include various fun-filled cultural, education and entertainment activities at the Nakhool tent, next to the Sitra Mall.

 Events during Eid

Sama Mattar, Head of Events, BACA, said various cultural activities would be held during Eid holidays.

On July 18, Mohamed bin Fares band will perform Eid concert at the Cultural Hall, from 8pm onwards. The annual Ta’a Al Youth Culture Festival will also be held on the occasion.

On July 19, Moroccan musical concern will be held at the same venue. Lay Ali Al Nagham group will perform Arab Andalus music from 8pm onwards.

The prince of Aab songs, Majid Al Mohandis will enthral audience with his popular songs on July 21. The event will be held at National Theatre from 8pm onwards. Entry is free for the public for the first two events, said Sama Mattar.
