His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa said Bahrain overcame the latest crisis through national unity and the work of its armed forces, security services and other teams, during a meeting with parliament Speaker Ahmed bin Salman Al Musallam and Shura Council Chairman Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh.

HM the King reviewed the outcome of the Gulf Co-operation Council consultative summit held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, with the two chairmen. He said the talks aimed at strengthening Gulf co-ordination in light of regional events and developments, and at protecting the interests, security and stability of GCC states.

His Majesty King Hamad said Bahrain had shown its ability to face challenges through the unity of its people, their cohesion and their stand ‘as one rank’ for the country.

He praised the armed forces, security services and other teams involved in defending Bahrain’s security, territorial safety, citizens and residents. He added that the kingdom enjoys security and stability and will remain ‘an oasis of safety and reassurance’ as it continues its national path in a spirit of one family.

His Majesty the King also thanked the chairmen and members of the Shura Council and Parliament for their stances towards the kingdom, praising what had been achieved during the four sessions of the sixth legislative term.

He said the legislature actively supported national development and helped secure further gains for the country and its people through its lawmaking and oversight work.
