Following a directive from the Council of Ministers to take urgent action against the spread of mosquitoes, the Ministry of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture and the Ministry of Health have intensified joint field measures to curb mosquito breeding across the kingdom.

The ministries said in a statement that coordinated efforts are underway in all governorates, including intensified removal of stagnant water, enhanced pest control operations, and increased field inspections to eliminate breeding sites.

Municipal teams across the Capital, Muharraq, Northern and Southern governorates have launched operational plans targeting open areas where water accumulates.

Plans

These plans include cleaning surrounding sites, removing waste that may trap water, and clearing vegetation that supports mosquito breeding.

Officials are also conducting regular field visits to monitor drainage and water removal operations, aiming to improve coordination and operational efficiency.

The ministry urged residents to comply with waste disposal regulations and report stagnant water locations via a dedicated hotline, stressing community cooperation in maintaining a safe enviNational drive to curb mosquito spreadronment.

The Ministry of Health said it continues preventive efforts in coordination with municipal authorities through field surveillance and targeted control of mosquito hotspots, particularly during periods of higher humidity and rainfall that increase breeding activity.
