Education Ministry re-engages 52 dropouts

 Education Minister Dr. Majid bin Ali Al-Nuaimi has announced that the Ministry succeeded in re-engaging 52 dropouts during the academic year 2014/2015.

The re-engagement is part of the Ministry’s efforts to provide free and compulsory education for all as stipulated in Articles Six and Eight of the Education Law.

 The Minister said the Ministry provided support and assistance to re-engage the Bahraini students, who dropped out of school, for health or psychological reasons and work on addressing these reason with the related authorities in the ministry or public institutions. He added that 36 dropouts were re-enrolled during the first academic semester and 16 during the second academic semester.

 He reiterated that these procedures were stated in the constitution and the Education Law, pointing out that the Ministry had established a department to follow-up on dropouts.

 He said that Bahrain had been ranked among the high-performance countries for the past five years by UNESCO, through providing free education for all.
