Sydney: Prince Harry and Meghan Markle met survivors and emergency responders of the Bondi Beach shooting during the final day of their visit to Australia.
The 2025 attack at Bondi Beach in Sydney reportedly left 15 people dead after gunmen opened fire during a Jewish festival, in what authorities described as one of the country’s worst mass shootings in decades.
During the visit, the couple spoke with survivors, including a man who said he was shot multiple times while protecting his children, and expressed appreciation for being heard and supported.
They also met first responders and representatives from the Sydney Jewish Museum, which is preparing an exhibition on the attack.
The visit has received mixed reactions in Australia, with some welcoming their engagement with survivors while others questioned the nature of the trip, which local media described as a “pseudo-royal tour.”
