UN Chief Welcomes Israel–Lebanon Ceasefire, Urges Full Respect for Truce

New York : United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has welcomed the 10-day ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon, praising the role of the United States in helping secure the agreement.
His spokesperson, Stéphane Dujarric, said Guterres hopes the pause in fighting will help open the door to further negotiations.
Guterres also urged all parties involved to fully respect the ceasefire and follow international law, including humanitarian rules, at all times. This call is understood to include all actors in the conflict, including armed groups such as Hezbollah.
