BCL: Kordal CC defeat Tornado A by 20 runs
Manama : Kordal CC defeated Tornado A by 20 runs to win the Bahrain Cricket League (BCL) 25 Overs Golden League sponsored by Lantern Restaurants.
After winning the toss, Tornado elected to bowl as Kordal were dismissed for 204 despite losing their openers cheaply, but the middle order batsman built up good partnerships with man of the match Furqan (50 off 33 deliveries) and Nabeel (36) being the main scorers, despite a fine spell of bowling by Sharath P (five for 40).
In reply, Tornado were dismissed for 184 as Kordal’s opening bowlers including Farzan (three for 35) reduced them to 22 for five as the top order collapsed.
Fine knocks by the middle order duo of Nithin M (71) and Athul (45) restored some hope of victory, but their hopes were dashed after being dismissed with Farzan (three for 35) being the pick of the bowlers.
