Dairy firm fined for fake goods sale
Manama : The Lower Criminal Court has fined a dairy company
BD14,000 for selling counterfeit goods and ordered the company to be shut down for six months.
The company is believed to have been selling natural milk products as they were raw but it was discovered that they were mixed with pasteurised milk.
The owner of the company admitted to police officers that he was aware of the fraud.
It’s worth noting that the owner along with 12 Asian employees were questioned in connection with this case. All the accused men were placed in provisional detention except one owing to his old age and health condition. The twelve men were fined BD1000 each for assisting the crime and were ordered to be deported from Bahrain once their jail time ended.
