Police officer sentenced to three years jail
Manama : The High Criminal Court has sentenced a police officer in the traffic directorate to three years behind bars for assaulting a GCC national, causing him 5 per cent disability.
The incident occurred in a Manama hotel at around 3:30 last year, where the defendant was having a beer in a bar and a dispute broke out between the pair. According to court files, the victim told the defendant “with our money we bring you and we buy you,” and he headed to the toilet.
The accused man followed him and he pushed him against the wall, breaking his nose before he hurled punches at his head. The officer who was arrested has admitted the crime.
