Crown Prince, UAE minister discuss energy tie-up

Manama : His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, met UAE’s Minister of Energy, Suhail Mohamed Faraj Al Mazrouei, at Gudaibiya Palace, yesterday.

During the meeting, HRH Crown Prince expressed his desire to deepen bilateral cooperation in the field of energy and renewable resources, a vital sector that can attract significant investment and help drive innovation and  sustain resources. Lauding the steps the UAE has taken in the field of renewable energy, HRH Crown Prince welcomed the opportunities provided by the bilateral agreement to encourage the use of renewable energy technology.

Prince Salman also highlighted Bahrain and GCC’s efforts to protect the environment and noted the work being undertaken to build partnerships to boost the renewable energy sector and improve cooperation to attract investment. His Royal Highness highlighted the strength of the relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates, supported by the commitment of both leaderships, and its steady growth across various sectors. 

HRH Crown Prince recalled his recent meeting with the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and welcomed His Highness’s desire to further strengthen bilateral ties in a collaborative way that positively supports the GCC and its initiatives.

The Minister of Energy of the UAE expressed his gratitude for the opportunity given to meet HRH Crown Prince. The Minister of Electricity and Water Affairs, Dr Abdul Hussain bin Ali Mirza, also attended the meeting.
