HM King opens new BDF facility

Manama : His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa yesterday opened the Special Battalion 83 Camp by unveiling a commemorative plaque at a ceremony held here. With the opening of the camp, the battalion joined other BDF units to exercise their sacred patriotic duty of defending the nation.

Commander-in-Chief of the Bahrain Defence Force (BDF), Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al-Khalifa, Defence Affairs Minister Lieutenant-General Youssef bin Ahmed Al-Jalahma, Royal Guard Commander, Brigadier-General Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa and the Special Battalion 83 Commander attended the function. 

Paying rich tributes to the BDF servicemen, HM the King said that the servicemen will remain the bulwark that defends the nation and safeguard its achievements.

HM King lauded the missions carried out by Bahrain’s armed forces to reinforce peace and security in the region, wishing success for everyone. The Supreme Commander also stressed his resolve to carry on equipping the BDF with  cutting-edge military systems. HM also emphasised the importance of continuing efforts to strengthen military cooperation with the Gulf Cooperation Council states.
