Sachdeva, Khan crowned champions

Manama : Dr Rajinder Sachdeva and playing partner Naeem Khan (25 points) were crowned champions of the Coca-Cola Monday Madness Night Golf Series at the Royal Golf Club with a four-round total of 15 points.

The duo of Atta Ur Rehman and Rehman Tipu (14) claimed second place overall and won the sixth and final competition of the series this week, while promising young golfers Ali Al Kowari and Ali Al Hakam (11) came in third.

Rehman and Tipu achieved a great score of 25 points to win the final Better Ball Stableford competition, closely followed by runners up Rob and Debbie Lane (23) and there was a three way 19 point tie for third place with James Lanceley and Jamie Bowen taking the honours on count back.

Nearest the pin side contests on holes 12 and 16 were won by Albert Monson and Dave Fernie respectively.

Coca-Cola branded flags and banners were displayed around the Club’s Montgomerie championship golf course for the duration of the final competition of the series and the evening was rounded off with a prize presentation ceremony in the Club’s Members’ Lounge where Adam Dutson, the Royal Golf Club’s Tournament Coordinator, was on hand to present the prizes on behalf of Coca-Cola.

The series will now be replaced by a weekly Monday Night Lights competition every Monday evening and the nine-hole competitions are also open to non-members and tee off with a 6:30pm shotgun start.
