8 million use Bahrain International Airport in 2016

Manama : Around 8,117,870 passengers used the Bahrain International Airport in 2016. Bahrain International Airport Police Director Col. Abdulaziz Abdulrahman Al Doseri said that the directives of HE the Interior Minister and follow-up by the Chief of Public Security were to provide the highest standards of security services for the travellers.

He said the Directorate was constantly working to provide the best services to the passengers and was keen to hold regular meetings to ensure the efficiency of the services by regulating the movement of vehicles and the public parking areas besides helping the travellers with reporting about lost items and those with special health conditions.  

Col. Al Doseri said the airport police worked round the clock at the security checkpoint in the airport while the community police helped and guided the travellers. The Traffic Unit in the directorate regulated the traffic in the departure and arrival area as well as the public car parks and dealt with traffic accidents in a separate area.  

He praised the cooperation between the passengers and the airport security men about following the rules and  regulations. The directorate also wants to improve the efficiency and add to the experience of its personnel through field and administrative courses.

He urged passengers not to use the overhead compartment to store cash or valuable items and to follow the security regulations while using electronic devices.
