TWO-YEAR ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION: WORDS ARE BLIND

You are cordially invited to attend Malja Bahrain’s two-year anniversary celebratory event! Join us in commemorating our second year of artistry and collaboration through an evening of all-encompassing creativity, including b-boying, art, and music. The celebration will feature the launch of Malja’s first art exhibition of 2017 and the start of a year-long artistic experiment, CoLab: WORDS ARE BLIND, curated by Fatima AlSaad and Weaam Seprinck, featuring a dive into writer/artist collaboration! The CoLab project prompts seasonal exhibitions converging artists of different disciplines, to translate each other’s work and collaborate under variable circumstances. The premise of this venture is in the question: What happens when artists and their creativity collide? Will there be an explosion, will there be solutions, dilutions, wonderfully catastrophic social implosions? WORDS ARE BLIND is a blind collaboration that started with writers whose pieces were blindly shifted into the hands of a visual artist who created their own art based on the piece. The anniversary celebration will witness the showcase of the first results of the CoLab experiment! Stay tuned for the full list of featured artists and writers, and musical performances!
