HRH Premier hails journalists’ role in nation’s development

Manama : Journalists deserve all kinds of support, given their awareness-raising role, constant defence of Bahrain as well as their keenness on countering smear campaigns and false allegations, affirmed Prime Minister HRH Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa.

HRH Premier made the statements while receiving the newly-elected board of directors of the Bahrain Journalists Association (BJA), led by Moanes Al Mardi.

Wishing them every success in upgrading the profession, HRH Premier also reiterated the government’s  relentless support to the association in serving journalists.

“The media and press message should strengthen our national unity and the cohesion of our social fabric.

“The interests of the nation and the progress of its people should be the ultimate goal everyone should focus on achieving,” the Premier said. 

Prince Khalifa also commended the role played by the national press in forming public opinion and developing awareness on various local and international issues. The Prime Minister also extended appreciation and voiced pride in the reports that served their responsibility towards the nation and its people.

“We are proud of the advanced level reached by Bahraini journalism and its keenness to promote knowledge, science and facts. The Bahraini Press should carry on with its noble mission for the sake of advancing society,” he added.
