Fly my kite high

I love kites. I also love pizza, cycling and catching fireflies, but I love kites the most!

I was 8 when I flew my first kite. We went to the beach to fly it (because inside my apartment the roof was too low and fan was too slow).Impatient as I was, I snatched the kite from my dad’s hand and I tried flying it the way I saw kids do it on TV. That kite would either not fly or fall down within a matter of seconds. Defeat accepted, I took it back to my dad who was watching me, hands crossed, with that ‘I told you so’ look on his face. Then he made me sit down and he explained how to fly it before he showed me how to.

He told me,

“As much as the kite is important so is the string. Every kite needs a string of its own kind. If the string is too short and too tight, the kite would break off and on the contrary if it is too long and slack, the kite would either not fly or would fall to the ground head- on.

You have no control on the wind up there, but if you know how to handle the string, your kite will not only fly but it will also *cut  (* cutting a kite is pulling down an opponent’s kite by striking its string tactfully till its string breaks).

You keep the string good and kite will fly high”

Your little ones are the same.

You can’t expect them to touch the stars without letting them fly and trust me you have absolutely NO control on the wind.

You pull them back each time they fly, if you wield your string too short, they would break off at the very first opportunity they get.

If you let them do whatever they want, and leave the string too long and slack, then you are the first reason which made your child fall head-on.

Oh! And please do not give them the ‘NEIGHBOUR’S CHILD’ scenario unless you neighbor is your clone!

And definitely take your parents into concern when you have your children before you go ‘YouTubing’  on how to grow them…..they grew you up and they definitely did a good job at that.

But by the end of the day…..they are your children, you would make faults at growing them up and they would make faults at growing up.

As long as your kite is flying despite the notorious wind, even you would love flying kites like me.
