Bahrain’s youngsters eye their next mission
Bahrain’s U16 national basketball team has been drawn into a tough Group A at the 22nd Arab U16 Basketball Championship, set to take place in Cairo from August 10 to 17. The group includes host nation Egypt, as well as Algeria and Jordan—teams with strong showings in previous Arab and regional tournaments.
The young Bahrainis enter the championship on a high after recently capturing the Gulf U16 title in front of home fans. Their unbeaten run and strong performances throughout the tournament have raised hopes for a successful campaign in Cairo.
The team is training locally, aiming to carry their Gulf momentum into the Arab championship.
Group B of the tournament features Lebanon, Qatar, Tunisia, and Kuwait. The top teams from each group will progress to the next round.
