Man jailed for stealing credit card
Manama : An Indian man was sentenced to five years in prison by the High Criminal Court for stealing the credit card of his sponsor.
The defendant reportedly pocketed the credit card before heading to his country through Bahrain. The owner of the card, a Saudi national, immediately tipped security officials, who nabbed the man in the transit zone at the Bahrain International Airport.
According to court files, the defendant was serving as a driver and is said to have withdrawn BD200 with the card. The defendant was charged on grounds of fraud and robbery. He will be deported once he completes his jail term.
