Women lose appeal in maid torture case
Manama : A judge, yesterday,refused to suspend the imprisonment of a mother, 67, and her 46-year-old daughter who tortured their domestic servant.
Earlier the court handed them two months each in prison. The duo reportedly caused burns to the victim using a hot iron rod.
The duo’s request to exchange their jail sentences with performing community service was declined due to the ‘gravity of their crime’
performed.
The victim also told prosecutors that she had been verbally and physically abused.
