CPISP selects student candidates for 2017

Manama : The Crown Prince’s International Scholarship Programme (CPISP) announced the selection of the student candidates for its 2017 scholarships, and will begin their training, in cooperation with the Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance (BIBF), starting from July 2.

CPISP Director Dr. Cynthia Gessling yesterday informed that 70 candidates had been selected from 350 applicants, who took the qualifying tests in  April.

Dr. Gessling said the candidates were selected based on their Grade Point Average and results of the qualifying tests, which included an English proficiency test besides critical reasoning assessment for verbal, numerical, and diagrammatical reasoning.

She added that the candidates included students from private and governmental schools, in addition to students studying outside Bahrain.

Dr. Gessling stated the Candidacy training, which is part of the scholarship final selection criteria, will include a Critical Thinking course, leadership training, and preparation courses for the IELTS and SAT exams.

To qualify for the Crown Prince’s 2017 scholarships, applicants must have Bahraini citizenship, a GPA of 97pc or higher, be enrolled in the 11th Grade and set to graduate from secondary school in 2017.
