Alba unveils summer safety campaign ‘Safety Convoy’

Manama : Aluminium Bahrain B.S.C. (Alba), the Bahrain-based international aluminium smelter, unveiled yesterday its plant-wide Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) Summer Safety Campaign ‘Safety Convoy’ at the Oasis Hall. 

Inaugurated by Alba’s Chairman of Board of Directors, Shaikh Daij Bin Salman Bin Daij Al Khalifa, the five-day campaign was attended by Alba’s Board Director, Dr. Mohamed Kameshki, Alba’s Executive Management, Directors, Managers and employees from various departments of the plant including representatives of the Alba Labour Union and Alba Trade Union. 

Speaking at the Opening Ceremony, Alba’s Chairman Shaikh Daij said: “In line with Alba’s long standing commitment to employee safety and health, we initiate summer safety campaigns every year to help our employees stay safe as well as ensure an accident-free summer.”

Adding further, Alba’s Chief Executive Officer Tim Murray said: “We believe that we can prevent work-related injuries and illnesses by taking appropriate care and following the procedures.” The campaign will comprise visits lectures, presentations, safety demonstrations as well as training sessions.
