TERMINATING TERROR
Ministry of Interior achieved a major breakthrough in its counter-terrorism efforts as it busted a terrorist plot targeting the country.
MOI investigation led to the arrest of a number of individuals who have been accused carrying out terrorist acts.
MOI identified them as the members of “Saraya Al Ashtar."
The arrested included the leaders of the outfit and others who unleashed terror in the country.
“Our investigation revealed that the terrorist outfit was formed in late 2012 by two leaders, namely, Ahmed Yousif Sarhan aka Abumuntadhir (26) and Jassim Ahmed Abdullah aka Thualfagar (39),” MOI said in a statement.
MOI further confirmed that both the fugitives are currently in Iran. It has now been revealed that both the fugitives were involved in a number of terror operations planned and unleashed by the out.
The fugitives also recruited Fadhil Mohammed Ali aka Abuhaider (25) and Hussain Jaffar Abdullah aka Sajid (31), now in police custody, into Saraya Al Ashtar, MOI disclosed.
Abuhaider and Sajid were assigned to form a terrorist group to target the policemen. They conspired with the leaders outside Bahrain and received help in the form of explosives and other means, MOI said.
Abuhaider and Sajid further recruited 10 others, who have also been arrested now, to work under their command. They included:

MOI investigation further revealed, by last year-end Ahmed Ahmed Yousif Sarhan and Jassim Ahmed Abdullah had helped Fadhel Mohammed Ali Abdulhadi, Hussain Jaffar Abdullah Fadhel and Sayed Alwai Mohammed Jaber Al Wadhaee to travel to Iraq.
“In Iraq, they received military, explosives and weapons training,” the MOI statement said.
Further, Hussain Jaffar Abdullah and Fadhel Mohammed Ali, in coordination with the commanders of the group, also helped Abass Hassan Ahmed Saleh and Abdullah Mohammed Abdullah Hussain to travel to Iraq. “They also received military, explosives and weapons training as members of the terrorist organisation,” MOI added.
The criminals now under arrest have confessed to their membership in the outfit and told investigations they received training from terrorist group Hezbollah Brigades in Iraq.
“Training included the use of the Kalashnikov, PKC and RPJ weapons, in addition to the use of C4 and TNT explosives,” MOI said.
The arrested were also trained in sniper, dismantling and installation of arms and the use of mortars, endoscopes and detonators besides abduction.
The General Directorate of Criminal Investigation and Forensic Science took the required legal steps in the case and referred it to the Public Prosecution.
