Professor Marike Patrani Paulsson, Secretary-General of the Council for International Dispute Resolution of the Kingdom of Bahrain, met with the former Chief Justice of India, Justice Dhananjaya Y. Chandrachud, Chair of the Advisory Panel of the newly launched Bahrain International Commercial Court (BICC).

She was also joined by Mr. Amir Singh Pasrich, Co-Chair of the International Bar Association (IBA) India and Treasurer of the IBA globally.

The meeting took place on the sidelines of her participation as a speaker at the IBA India Litigation & ADR Symposium in New Delhi.

Launch

The meeting followed the successful launch of the BICC on 5 November and formed part of a broader programme to promote the Global Justice Bay (GJB) and the BICC, while further strengthening institutional ties with key international stakeholders.

Discussions focused on advancing the next phase of the BICC’s development, including strategic priorities, international engagement, and the enhancement of cross-border commercial dispute resolution frameworks.

The meeting also addressed avenues for cooperation between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the International Bar Association.

Cooperation

Both sides explored avenues to deepen cooperation, exchange expertise, and support the Court’s positioning within the global dispute resolution landscape.

The meeting underscored the shared commitment to advancing judicial and institutional collaboration and to supporting legal certainty and investor confidence through modern, effective dispute resolution mechanisms.
