His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, received a cable of congratulations from His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, following McLaren’s victory in the Formula 1 World Constructors’ Championship and Lando Norris, McLaren driver, winning the Formula 1 World Drivers’ Championship at the conclusion of the Formula 1 World Championship season.

The achievement marks the first time in 27 years that the team has secured both titles in the same season.

HRH Prince Salman underscored that McLaren’s achievements reflect the efforts of those leading the team, who are committed to advancing Bahrain’s standing in global sport, in line with HM the King’s vision for the Kingdom’s development.

His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister also emphasised that the team’s success reflects the continued efforts of Team Bahrain in advancing the development of Bahraini sports, particularly in motorsports.

HM King Hamad and His Royal Highness also received a flood of congratulations from senior members of the royal family, ministers, and senior officials.
