The President of the Asian Federation of Bodybuilding and Fitness (AFBF) and Bahrain Weightlifting and Bodybuilding Federation (BWBF) and vice-president of the International Federation of Bodybuilding and Fitness, Shaikh Abdulla bin Rashid Al Khalifa chaired a meeting ahead of the 49th Asian Bodybuilding and Fitness Championships which are underway in Kitakyushu, Japan and conclude today.
Meanwhile, Bahraini's delegation are in Japan and were earlier seen off at Bahrain International Airport the airport by BWBF board of directors member Bassim Al Junaid who wished the team success.
The Bahrain delegation comprises - head of delegation, Sultan Hussain Ghanem, nutritionist, Hussain Al Hayki, technical advisor, Saleh Al Ammar, administrators, Mohammed Salman and Younis Ahmed, coach Ahmed Haider and the participants are Arafat Yacoub, Ibrahim Habib, Faisal Al Dosari, Mohammed Lutfallah, Faisal Al Dosari, Ali Ibrahim, Khalid Jassim, Yousuf Ali Yahya and Mohammed Fouad Al Majid.
The championship is the largest in its history with participants from 24 countries - Bahrain, UAE, Kuwait, Oman, Yemen, Jordan, Syria, Iraq, Palestine, Iran, India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Brunei, Mongolia, Kazakhstan, Afghanistan, Philippines, China, Chinese Taipei, Hong Kong and hosts Japan.
Competition features three men's categories - Physique, Classic Bodybuilding and Bodybuilding (11 categories 55kg to +100kg) and for women - Bikini Fitness, Body Fitness and Physique.
Among side events are exhibitions for health food and nutritional supplements and sports clothes.
