Al Ameed, Al Maseef in thrilling draw

Al Ameed and Al Maseef played out a thrilling 3-3 draw last night in the opening Group C match at the Khalifa Sports City in Isa Town on the third day of the first Nasser bin Hamad Ramadan Sports Games and eighth edition of the Nasser bin Hamad Ramadan Football Championship.

In first half action, Al Ameed scored three goals in the 6th, 39th and 41st minutes, but Al Maseef’s Ahmed Al Mehza pulled a goal back with a free-kick on the stroke of half-time.

In the second half, Al Mehza completed a hat trick and win a point for his team after slotting home penalty kicks in the 60th and 73rd minutes.

Tonight in the opening Group D matches, Al Nawayef face Gunners United at the same venue kicking off at 5.45pm, followed by Cobra and United Youth at 8pm.

The event is being held under the patronage of  Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Charity

Works and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports and President of Bahrain Olympic Committee.

The football competition concludes on July 3, while other sports in the games are Basketball, which will be held at the Bahrain Basketball

Association in Umm Al Hassam and concludes July 1, handball takes place at the Bahrain Handball Association in Umm Al Hassam and concludes on June 23 and volleyball is at the Bahrain Volleyball Association in Isa Town with the final on June 30.
