Bahraini man jailed for defamation
Manama: The High Criminal Court has sentenced a Bahraini man to five years behind bars for defaming HM the King online. The defendant, aged 45, is said to have made remarks against HM the King on his Twitter account.
He was tracked down after the Anti-Corruption and Economic and Electronic Security Directorate received a tip-off about his illicit activities. He was also fined BD10,000.
