Expat falls from building, dies

A 23–year old Indian expat who was admitted at the Salmaniya Medical Complex(SMC) since January 28, brain-dead after falling from the terrace of his residential building in Manama souq, died yesterday evening.

Jerin Varghese, who was working as an electrician at Mohammed Alharbi Electrical Contracting Company in Juffair, accidentally slipped and fell from the building while he was checking a leakage of a water heater on top of the building.

He was taken to SMC and was in a state of unconsciousness all these days. Jerin, who came to Bahrain a year ago was an active member of the Indian Pentecostal Church (IPC).

He is survived by his father Varghese Kavunnilathil, mother Mani and brother Jemy. 

The body will be repatriated to India on Tuesday to his hometown in Kunnankulam in the Thrissur district of the Indian state of Kerala, his relative David told DT News.
