Gulf-EU Cooperation Discussed

Bahrain and European Union officials discuss preparations for the second Gulf-EU Summit and ways to strengthen cooperation.

Bahrain’s Ambassador to Belgium and Head of its Mission to the European Union, Dr. Mohammed Ali Behzad, met Simon Mordue, Chief Diplomatic Adviser to the President of the European Commission, as Bahrain continues its presidency of the 46th session of the Gulf Cooperation Council.

The meeting, attended by Saudi Arabia’s Ambassador to the EU Haifa Abdulrahman Al-Jedea and the GCC Secretariat’s Head of Mission to the EU Fahad Saqr Al-Jumaah, focused on preparations for the second Gulf-EU Summit in Saudi Arabia. Discussions also covered ways to strengthen Gulf-European cooperation, particularly in economic and investment areas and energy security.

The officials exchanged views on regional developments and diplomatic efforts to reduce escalation and tensions. They stressed the importance of continued coordination on issues of mutual interest to support security, stability and peace across the region.
