Bahrain Bureau Wins 2026 GIS Award
The Survey and Land Registration Bureau has received the 2026 Special Achievement in GIS (SAG) Award in the Land Records/Cadastre industry for its geospatial platform.
The award was presented during the Esri User Conference 2026 in San Diego, United States of America. The conference brought together more than 18,000 technology, innovation and GIS leaders and specialists from more than 100 countries.
The SAG Award is one of the world's leading awards in GIS and is presented annually to organisations from around the world in recognition of their achievements in using GIS and developing innovative applications and solutions in the field.
Basem bin Yaqoub Al Hamar, President of the Survey and Land Registration Bureau, said the achievement reflects the continued support for digital transformation and innovation in the Kingdom of Bahrain under the comprehensive development process led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
He said this support has contributed to creating a national environment that encourages innovation and enables government entities to develop advanced digital solutions in line with international best practices.
Al Hamar said the achievement also reflects the advanced capabilities of national talent in geospatial data and digital innovation.
He commended the efforts of the specialised team that developed the geospatial platform over the past two years based on innovation, data integration and the use of the latest technologies, contributing to the development of an advanced system in line with international best practices.
