1,800m Walkway Planned Near National Museum
The Capital Trustees Board received 1,203 requests through the Tawasul platform during the current session, conducted 185 field visits across the governorate's areas and constituencies, followed up on 223 requests and sent 299 official letters to relevant authorities, deputy chairwoman Khulood Al Qattan said.
Al Qattan said field work has been central to the board's performance, with members and committees visiting different areas and listening directly to residents. This helped identify priorities and focus on issues most closely linked to people's daily lives.
The board focused on developing central markets, maintaining and upgrading public parks, improving infrastructure, addressing parking shortages, and supporting environmental initiatives and urban sustainability.
Among the session's key results, Al Qattan highlighted 120 new parking spaces in Juffair and progress on a maintenance programme covering 43 public parks. The board also followed up on the redevelopment of the capital's old souq and the central markets in Sitra and Jidhafs, which she said supports economic activity while preserving the capital's urban identity.
Al Qattan said planned projects include developing the waterfront extending to King Faisal Corniche and an 1,800-metre walkway near the National Museum.
Al Qattan said the board continues to carry out its oversight and service role through a vision based on partnership with residents and government bodies, developing municipal work in line with the expectations of the governorate's population and the goals of sustainable development and Bahrain's Vision 2030.
