21-Year-Old Arrested Over Online Child Exploitation
The Ministry of Interior announced that the Child Protection Unit in Cyberspace, under the General Directorate of Anti-Corruption, Economic and Electronic Security, has arrested a 21-year-old man accused of luring and exploiting a 13-year-old girl through a social media platform.
Following a report, authorities immediately launched an investigation, which led to the identification and arrest of the suspect.
The General Directorate said the necessary legal procedures have been initiated, with the case set to be referred to the Public Prosecution.
The Child Protection Unit urged parents to strengthen supervision of their children’s social media use and educate them about the risks of interacting with strangers online.
Parents were also advised to ensure children do not share photos or personal information with unknown individuals and to immediately report any suspicious communication or suspected grooming attempts.
