ICDR Secretary General meets India’s Supreme Court Judge

Professor Marika Patrani Paulsson, Secretary General of the International Council for Dispute Resolution (ICDR) and Head of the Kingdom of Bahrain’s delegation to the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL), held a meeting with Justice Vikram Nath of the Supreme Court of India and Gaurab Banerji, Senior Advocate at the Supreme Court of India, former Additional Solicitor General of India, and President of the Indian Arbitration Bar.

The meeting focused on ways to enhance cooperation between Bahrain and India in the fields of international arbitration and cross-border dispute resolution.

Discussions covered opportunities for exchanging expertise, strengthening judicial training cooperation between UNCITRAL, the International Council for Commercial Arbitration (ICCA), and Bahrain, as well as fostering greater engagement between arbitration communities in both countries.

The two sides also explored continued efforts to develop modern frameworks for resolving commercial disputes and reviewed future avenues for collaboration, including stronger institutional ties between dispute resolution bodies in Bahrain and India.

The meeting highlighted the importance of further supporting the position of the Bahrain International Commercial Court within the global arbitration and dispute resolution landscape.
