Muharraq Launches Pool Safety Inspections

Seasonal campaign targets commercial swimming pools to ensure safety, hygiene and legal compliance

Muharraq Governorate has launched its annual inspection campaign targeting commercial swimming pools across the governorate as part of its summer safety programme.

The inspections aim to ensure that swimming pool facilities comply with public safety, environmental health and licensing requirements, providing a safe environment for residents and visitors during the summer holiday season.

Muharraq Governor Salman bin Isa bin Hindi Al Mannai said the committee responsible for monitoring swimming pools has begun field inspections under a scheduled plan, in coordination with representatives from relevant ministries and government authorities.

The campaign will verify that facilities comply with legal, health and safety regulations, while legal action will be taken against establishments found operating without licences or in violation of regulations.

Inspectors are checking the availability and condition of essential safety equipment, including fire extinguishers, first-aid kits and lifesaving devices. The campaign also includes inspections of electrical systems, gas pipelines and the cleanliness and quality of swimming pool water to ensure the safety of visitors and strengthen safety standards across the facilities.
