Bahrain Appreciates India’s Support on Regional Security Stance

Foreign Minister Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani met with India's External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar at the Ministry headquarters in Manama on Monday, coinciding with the Indian minister's official visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain.

Dr. Al Zayani warmly welcomed his Indian counterpart, highlighting the deep-rooted historical friendship between the two nations, built on mutual respect and constructive cooperation. He noted the visible progress in bilateral relations, reflecting a shared determination to elevate ties across all levels. The Bahraini minister emphasised the importance of activating the Joint Ministerial Committee and leveraging existing bilateral agreements to advance common interests and open broader horizons for partnership.

Bahrain Thanks India for Solidarity Over Iranian Aggression

Foreign Minister Al Zayani expressed Bahrain's deep appreciation for India's solidarity with the Kingdom and its condemnation of Iranian aggressions. He commended India's supportive stance toward UN Security Council Resolution 2817, which Bahrain submitted on behalf of Gulf Cooperation Council member states and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.

Al Zayani also praised the significant contributions of the Indian community residing in Bahrain, recognising their vital role in the Kingdom's development and prosperity journey. The Indian diaspora in Bahrain represents one of the largest expatriate communities and continues to contribute meaningfully across various economic and professional sectors.

Indian External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar expressed his delight at visiting Bahrain, conveying profound respect and admiration for the Kingdom's leadership and people. He extended sincere gratitude for the warm hospitality and generous reception extended to him during the visit.

Dr. Jaishankar praised the strong bonds uniting both friendly nations, describing the relationship as a model of constructive cooperation serving mutual interests. He highlighted promising opportunities to strengthen ties across sectors of shared interest, with particular emphasis on economic, trade, and investment fields, expressing optimism that bilateral cooperation would continue to grow and flourish in the coming period.

Bahrain and India Agree to Boost Joint Ministerial Committee

During the high-level meeting, both ministers reviewed avenues of cooperation across political, economic, investment, and developmental domains. Discussions focused on activating existing bilateral agreements and memoranda of understanding to maximise opportunities for advancing joint collaboration.

Both sides agreed to reinvigorate efforts within the Joint Ministerial Committee framework, aiming to capitalise on available opportunities and deepen bilateral cooperation across areas of mutual concern. The meeting reaffirmed both governments' commitment to strengthening the strategic partnership and translating shared ambitions into tangible outcomes that serve the mutual interests of Bahrain and India
