The Permanent Mission of Bahrain to the United Nations sent a letter to the Security Council condemning Iranian drone attacks that targeted Bahraini territory on June 27, 2026, calling them a flagrant violation of sovereignty and a breach of international law protecting civilians.

Continued Iranian aggression undermines regional de-escalation efforts and places responsibility on Tehran for destabilising security and exporting chaos, despite prior commitments under agreements affirming respect for sovereignty.

The attacks challenge the international consensus reflected in Security Council Resolution 2817 (2026), which 136 UN members backed, rejecting such behaviour and affirming that peace cannot be achieved through intimidation.

Meanwhile, Bahrain participated in the Security Council vote adopting Resolution 2824 to renew the UNDOF mandate in the Golan Heights until December 31, 2026. Bahrain reaffirmed support for the force's role in monitoring the 1974 Disengagement Agreement and stressed that the Golan remains Syrian territory under international law.
