His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, chaired the weekly Cabinet meeting at Gudaibiya Palace, where ministers reviewed national priorities, regional developments, and several international and domestic initiatives.

The Cabinet opened by commending the address delivered by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa during last week’s meeting. Ministers said the Royal directives and priorities outlined in the speech provide a clear framework to further strengthen Bahrain’s security and stability, while building on national achievements. The Cabinet affirmed that government bodies will continue implementing these directives across all sectors.

Strongly Condemned

The Cabinet meeting also addressed regional security concerns, strongly condemning renewed hostile Iranian actions against the Kingdom of Bahrain and the State of Kuwait. Ministers called on Iran to immediately cease hostilities, fully reopen the Strait of Hormuz without restrictions, and uphold freedom of maritime navigation in accordance with international law and United Nations Security Council resolutions. The Cabinet reiterated Bahrain’s support for efforts aimed at de-escalation, civilian protection, and safeguarding regional and international peace and security.

Security agencies, including the Bahrain Defence Force, the National Guard, and the Ministry of Interior, were commended for their preparedness and coordination in responding to evolving developments.

The Cabinet also welcomed the outcomes of the annual meeting between the Minister of Interior and representatives of matams across Bahrain’s governorates. The discussions highlighted public safety measures and the importance of preserving Ashura observances, while ensuring compliance with regulations and maintaining community security.

On education, ministers congratulated students across all academic stages for the 2025–2026 academic year and praised parents for their support. They also commended the Ministry of Education’s staff for their continued dedication and professionalism throughout the year.

Economy

In the economic sector, the Cabinet welcomed the announcement involving Aluminium Bahrain (Alba), American Industrial Partners, and Bpifrance regarding Alba’s acquisition of Aluminium Dunkerque, described as the largest aluminium smelter in the European Union. The Cabinet also praised the efforts of Mumtalakat Holding Company in strengthening Bahrain’s investment portfolio.

They also discussed preparations for the upcoming 167th session of the Ministerial Council of the Gulf Cooperation Council, as well as progress on youth development projects under the Government Programme 2023–2026.

Finally, the Cabinet reviewed reports on Bahrain’s participation in several international forums, including the Choose France summit, the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, and global conferences on food supply chains, ocean sustainability, and water security. It also noted updates on the conclusion of the academic year and recent ministerial engagements and foreign visits to Bahrain in June 2026.
