Students from across Bahrain presented artificial intelligence-driven healthcare solutions at an entrepreneurship challenge hosted by Al Hilal Healthcare Group, highlighting youth engagement in public health innovation.

The inaugural Inter-School Social Entrepreneurship Challenge was held at the group’s Muharraq branch, coinciding with World Hypertension Day, and focused on developing practical solutions to address hypertension, a major global health concern.

Ten schools participated: Bahrain Indian School, New Millennium School, Creativity Private School, Pakistan School, The Indian School, The Asian School, The New Indian School, Bangladesh School, Quality Education School, and New Horizon School.

The Asian School, Bahrain won first place, receiving a BD 100 prize, a trophy, and gift hampers. Its student team developed an AI-powered platform using large language models, featuring modules for patient self-management, remote health monitoring and physician dashboards.

New Horizon School, Bahrain secured second place and received a BD 50 prize along with a trophy and gifts.

Al Hilal Healthcare Group CEO Dr Sharath Chandran said the standard of innovation demonstrated by students was “exemplary,” adding that the organisation aims to integrate advanced AI systems into its healthcare delivery model. He also said the competition would become a permanent annual event.
