A juvenile court in Bahrain sentenced 10 minors to prison terms in separate cases linked to violence and vandalism.

The Minor Criminal Court for Juveniles issued rulings in six cases, handing down sentences ranging from two to three years. It also ordered the Reform and Rehabilitation Centre to submit a progress report on the juveniles after six months to assess whether the sentences should continue or be replaced with alternative measures.

According to the prosecution, the cases involved the juveniles’ participation in unauthorised gatherings during which acts of violence and damage to public property were reported. Police arrested the youths in the Northern Governorate and referred to the Public Prosecution for questioning before being sent to court.

The prosecution said the defendants were interrogated in line with legal safeguards before being placed in detention pending trial.

Officials said the court proceedings came after multiple police reports documented the incidents and the subsequent arrests.

The Head of the Family and Child Prosecution stressed that legal action would continue against anyone involved in threats to public order or damage to property, while also highlighting the importance of family supervision in guiding and protecting minors from behavioural risks and repeated offending.
