Journalists lauded for promoting Bahrain’s achievements globally

Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh, Chairman of the Shura Council, said the progress and professionalism of the Bahraini press reflect the vision of King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.

Marking World Press Freedom Day, he highlighted the role of a free and responsible media as a key partner in national development, supported by royal directives promoting openness, transparency, and freedom of expression.

Al Saleh praised journalists for strengthening national identity and showcasing Bahrain’s achievements globally, while commending government support led by Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa in empowering media institutions and talent.

He reaffirmed that continued support for the press will enhance its role in advancing the Kingdom of Bahrain’s development and progress.

Defends Nation

On the occasion of Bahraini Press Day and World Press Freedom Day, the Shura Council praised the national press for its key role in supporting the Kingdom’s development and strengthening social cohesion.

The Council said the media serves as the first line of defence in raising public awareness, highlighting its responsibility to deliver accurate reporting and counter misinformation that could affect national security and stability.

It commended Bahraini journalists for their dedication to defending the country’s image locally and internationally, and for their professional response to attempts that target national unity and achievements.

The Council also highlighted the progress of Bahrain's media sector, noting its adaptation to digital transformation, including the use of artificial intelligence and advanced visual content production.

Reaffirming its support for journalists, the Council stated that responsible media remains essential for protecting the nation and promoting its positive image globally.
