Sewer Network Coverage Exceeds 93% in Manama

Mohammed Darwish Sewage network coverage in the First Constituency of the Capital Governorate has reached over 99%, while overall coverage across the governorate stands at around 93%, the Ministry of Works said in response to MP Mohammed Janahi.
The ministry also outlined ongoing and planned infrastructure works across Manama, Salmaniya, and Hoora, along with completed projects in 2025 worth BD323,000.
Key ongoing works include the upgrade of Road 709 in Block 307 in Manama, which is 25% complete and valued at BD220,000. The project covers road improvements, parking spaces, drainage systems, sidewalks, lighting, and road markings.
Future projects include upgrades to Al Fat eh Highway to - wards Shaikh Hamad Bridge, as well as works on Roads 715 and 1805 in Hoora, aimed at improving road quality and connectivity.
Maintenance works worth around BD270,000 are also planned, covering resurfacing and rehabilitation of roads in Manama, Salmaniya, and Hoora.
The ministry said projects are selected based on urban density, technical priorities, and approved budgets, in coordination with relevant municipal authorities.
