Bahrain marks Youth Day today with praise for the achievements and talents of young Bahrainis. Shura Council Chairman Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh says the occasion follows His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s vision of preparing a rising generation able to meet the years ahead and play a full part in the Kingdom’s development in the region and further afield.

Al Saleh says HM the King’s care for young people stems from a belief that they are the country’s true wealth, a key source of its progress and a firm part of its growth.

He says the Shura Council will keep supporting laws and state policies that give youth a stronger role and greater responsibility in Bahrain’s development path.

The lawmaker also praises the work of the government, led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, saying its programmes across key sectors help young people build skills, develop their talents and find real openings to contribute to the country.

He says this is clear in training programmes, national contests and initiatives, support for youth projects and constructive ideas, and their role within Team Bahrain in winning local and international success.

Al Saleh says the council is keen to continue working closely with the government and to strengthen laws that serve young people and deepen their place in the country’s wider development drive.

Efforts

He also praises the efforts of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs and Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, and HIs Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, Chairman of the General Sports Authority and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee.

The legislator says the programmes and initiatives run through the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports help build young people’s skills and abilities, encourage creativity and high achievement, and strengthen the presence of Bahraini youth in regional and international forums.

He adds that this work helps them achieve success across different fields and deepens a culture of giving and leadership among the country’s youth, in line with the King’s vision and guidance.
