Six-Hour Operation Extinguishes Muharraq Blaze

The General Directorate of Civil Defence successfully brought under control a fire that broke out at an oil facility in Muharraq Governorate after a criminal attack targeted the site.
Brigadier Pilot Ali Mohammed Al Kubaisi, Director-General of the General Directorate of Civil Defence, confirmed that the incident was reported at approximately 2:45 a.m. Civil Defence vehicles and personnel responded immediately, supported by strategic partners from both public and private sectors. The firefighting operation lasted around six hours.
“Advanced techniques were employed to contain this major blaze, which caused an oil leak inside the facility and had the potential for a significant disaster,” Brig. Pilot Al Kubaisi said. “Thanks to God and the bravery of our teams, the fire was successfully extinguished.”
Currently, teams are conducting cooling operations and transferring petroleum materials to secure locations to prevent any flare-ups. Brig. Pilot Al Kubaisi emphasized that the situation is now fully under control and expressed relief that all personnel and residents are safe.
“This operation highlights the dedication of our Civil Defence teams and the importance of collaboration with strategic partners,” he added.
