Manama: At around 4.20 am, two vehicles were stopped in the emergency lane due to a tyre failure when a man in his thirties allegedly drove into them, killing one person and injuring three others. The High Criminal Court has scheduled March 17 as the date to issue its verdict in the case.
The Public Prosecution stated that the defendant caused the death by mistake and injured three people after failing to exercise due care while driving. Prosecutors said he crossed the yellow line and entered the emergency lane in an unsafe manner.
The accused also faces charges of damaging public and private property and endangering road users, including pedestrians, through unsafe driving practices such as sudden swerving and repeated lane changes.
According to court testimony, one vehicle had stopped in the emergency lane after suffering a tyre failure, and a second car pulled up in front of it to provide assistance. At the time of the collision, four passengers were inside the vehicles.
